Join us in praying for the Protection of Leaders (Church & Government Leaders & the Luis Palau CityFest Team), Unity of the Body of Christ (in our congregations, our community, in the greater Portland/ Vancouver area), the Activation of Believers (toward prayer, good works & the proclamation of the Gospel) & the Harvest of New Believers (through a personal witness, the Season of Service & all aspects of CityFest), as well as the following:

Marketplace Prayer Campaigns

Do you want to see God move in your part of the greater Portland/Vancouver metro area and bring city-wide transformation to the lives of your family, friends and work associates?  Right now, we are asking God for an open heavens over our region, for believers to release the power of the Holy Spirit to invade the marketplace with His power, love and light.

All you need to do is gather for prayer once a week with several other believers in your office complex, your business conference rooms, a work associates' office or in a park, coffee shop or restaurant near your work. Begin to pray with them in your part of the marketplace and ask God to pour out His Holy Spirit on those around you.  Pray specifically for their needs, as they are revealed to you, and watch God answer your prayers.

Contact K-Praise Station Manager, James Autry at prayer@kkpz.com for more information about what God is revealing to us about this city-wide transformation strategy.  Become a Harvester, for the best is yet to come!

Weekly & Quarterly Prayer Gatherings

Israel Connection - A Weekly Worship & Prayer Gathering

Is your heart crying out for God to transform our community?  Do you believe that such requires believers coming together in unity and praying in One Voice?  Can you take a few hours a week to meet with such believers?

Then join us for the "Israel Connection" Prayer Meeting, Wednesdays from 9am -11am in the Milliken Hall Conference Room 202 of Western Seminary (located at SE 55th and Hawthorne on the West side of Mt. Tabor) overlooking downtown Portland.  Mt. Tabor, in the heart of our city, was named by believers seeking to glorify God in late 1800's.  Healing Evangelist, John G. Lake lived and worked on Mt. Tabor in the 1920's.   Western Seminary was launched by believers seeking to impact nations and re-located onto Mt. Tabor in 1944.

Since January 2004, believers from all walks for life have been meeting together each week for prayer calling upon God to do a new thing in our midst and thus transform our community for his glory.  We have gathered together to pray for our community, our region, our nation and the nation of Israel and learn more about what God is doing around the world through Christians and Jews in establishing His Kingdom in the marketplace.  Please join us!

Greater Portland Prayer Coalition - A Quarterly Gathering

On Saturday, April 28, 2007, various Prayer Network Leaders and Church Prayer Leaders gathered from 9am-12noon at the Portland Marriott for our first Greater Portland Prayer Coordinating Meeting hosted by James Autry, Dennis Fuqua of International Renewal Ministries (Pastors' Prayer Summits) and Craig Smith (local business man and catalyst for Portland Again in 2005). Lisa Otis, wife of George Otis, Jr of the Sentinel Group (producers of the Transformation videos) and Mark Jones, Prayer Pastor at City Bible Church encouraged us to "wait upon the Lord" and "to pray for our leaders as we are on the verge of significant breakthroughs" in our city and region. Then after praying in small groups, we discovered that most leaders are praying for "Unity in the Body of Christ" in response to our traditional independent spirit in the Northwest and for "Personal Purity & Holiness" in response to the increased impurity and perversion being released upon our region. We also believe that God's Spirit is revealing that His Kingdom will come in the Greater Portland / Vancouver metro area as we allow His Kingdom to come into our personal lives and corporate church fellowships. You can listen online to an edited Audio recording of the meeting and/or email us for a copy on CD.

On Saturday, July 28, 2007, we meet again for the next Greater Portland Prayer Coalition gathering from 9am-12noon at the Portland Hilton, wherein we prayed in regards to our last meeting in April, reviewed a 2003 DVD from George Otis, Jr "The Quickening" regarding the Core Principles and Common Obstacles to City-Wide Transformation and previewed their 2007 (not yet released) DVD of "Approaching Fire" regarding what is taking place in our world and how God is expecting us to respond. We also reviewed the book, "The Power of a City at Prayer" detailing the local prayer efforts that have recently transformed New York City. [In 1990, Time magazine declared NYC the murder capital of America. Since February 1995, now up to 120 churches and 1000+ believers in NYC have been meeting for "The Lord's Watch" (24/7 prayer), wherein today, the crime rate has been drastically reduced and NYC is now the safest large city in America (of over 1 million).] Then we gathered on Sunday, July 29th from 5pm-7pm on the top of Mt. Tabor in SE Portland to fellowship together, to remit the past sins of our city and to ask God for His kindness in leading us to repentance.  We also asked the Lord to fulfill the Word for Portland given by Cindy Jacobs on July 23, 1997 and for Him to establish a 24/7 prayer movement, wherein we are working on launching "K-Praise Worship & Intercession" on KKPZ during the night watches (7 nights a week from 12midnight to 6am) starting Thursday, September 13, 2007, followed by "The Lord's Watch over Greater Portland" (wherein one or more local churches and ministries will pray from 6am to 12midnight one day a month) starting on Sunday, June 8, 2008.

On Saturday, October 27th, we meet again for the next Greater Portland Prayer Coalition quarterly gathering from 9am-12noon in the Rose Room at Portland's City HallThis quarterly gathering was hosted by Jeri Williams, Neighborhood Program Coordinator for the City of Portland - Office of Neighborhood Involvement.   We opened the meeting in prayer for our city and then Jeri shared about the interest of her office and the City of Portland to include various diverse ethnic groups and faith-based organization in Portland's 95 Neighborhood Associations and it's Seven District Coalition Offices, which are funded by the City of Portland and report directly to City Council and the Mayor.   Then James Autry, S.O.N. City Director, shared about Serving Our Neighbors and how they are working with various city-wide prayer initiatives and various Offices of the City of Portland to encourage believers and faith-based organizations (churches, ministries & services-businesses owned and/or operated by believers) to pray for and serve our community.    Then we ended the gathering with an extended time of fellowship, wherein their PowerPoint presentation "Healthy Neighborhoods Include You!" is available for your review.

For 2008, we are working towards facilitating prayer throughout our state for our National Day of Prayer on Thursday, May 1st, followed by a Global Day of Prayer event in downtown Portland on Sunday, May 11th, wherein local churches and ministries will then conduct a Season of Service in regions throughout the greater Portland/Vancouver metro area, culminating with the next Portland CityFest with Luis Palau, August 22-23, 2008.  If your Church Prayer Leader or Prayer Network Leader is interested in joining us for these strategic and insightful gatherings; in helping us with sponsoring the airtime and coordinating the prayer for "K-Praise Worship & Intercession" OR in participating in the "The Lord's Watch over Greater Portland", please email us.

Serving Our Neighbors (S.O.N.) is hosting the Greater Portland Prayer Coalition information on their website, wherein you can discover more Ongoing Prayer Gatherings throughout our region, Annual Days of Prayer & Strategic Gatherings for our region, nation & world and Strategic Regional Strongholds & Prophecies, as well as Strategic National Prophecies.

More than 200 million Christians around the world are persecuted today merely for confessing their love for Christ.  Each year, the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church (IDOP) gives Christians in free countries the opportunity to pray for and with those who suffer for their faith.  Its primary focus is the work of intercessory prayer and citizen action on behalf of persecuted communities of the Christian faith. We also encourage prayer for the souls of the oppressors, the nations that promote persecution, and those who ignore it.

IDOP began in 1996 through the efforts of the World Evangelical Fellowship (WEF) in cooperation with a variety of denominations and faith-based organizations. From a core group of approximately 7,000 churches, IDOP has grown to be the largest prayer day event of its kind in the world. IDOP is a rallying point for Christians and others to stand behind those who suffer for their faith by providing prayer support and appropriate advocacy.  Since 1996 more than 100,000 U.S. churches, representing nearly every U.S. denomination, have taken part in IDOP with other believers in over 130 countries.  For more information, visit www.persecutedchurch.org or www.idop.org.

The Theme for 2008 was "Prayer!  America's Strength & Shield" and was based upon Psalm 28:7  "The Lord is my strength and shield; my heart trusts in Him, and I am helped." For the past 57 years, hundreds of public prayer gatherings have taken place throughout the State of Oregon.  Visit www.nationaldayofprayer.org to find an event that took place in your community.

Thanks for joining us at 7am on Thursday, May 1st  at the Kingstad Meeting Center (located at 15450 SW Millikan Way, Beaverton) for a National Day of Prayer Breakfast of Washington County on featuring Keynote Speaker, William "Fritz" Klumpp, Special Music with Georgene & Dan Rice & a Special Testimony with local businessman, Dave Gillihan.

Also thanks for joining us at 12noon on Thursday, May 1st at Portland City Hall for a National Day of Prayer gathering on the Eastside Steps, which was broadcasted LIVE on K-Praise 1330 AM from 12-12:15pm.  If you, your church, ministry or business would like to coordinate a prayer event (breakfast, lunch, rally or a simple gathering) for next year, please register as a coordinator and post your event, so that others in your community will be able to join you in prayer for America!

In 2008, more than 300 million Christians in 212 nations united in a day of repentance and prayer for their communities and the world.  Christians came together in large stadiums, open fields, market squares, churches and other public venues to pray.

We meet on Saturday, May 10, 2008 at 2pm for prayer at the "Gene Autry" Flag Pole located at Waterfront Park in downtown Portland and on Sunday, May 11, 2008 at 5pm on the top of Mt Tabor Park in SE Portland, wherein we broadcast these times of prayer on K-Praise 1330 AM.

We also meet in Vancouver, on Saturday, May 10th at 2pm at the Vancouver Landing (just West of the Red Lion at the Quay).  Many prayer networks, Christian organizations and prayer leaders support this initiative with other events being facilitated and broadcasted by hundreds of radio and TV stations around the world. Christians all over the world are invited to join hands in a Global Day of Prayer.  For the latest visit www.gdopusa.com or www.globaldayofprayer.com.

The two key verses that are guiding our planning around the Global Day of Prayer, are 2 Chron.7:14 "If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land" and Hab.2:14 "For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea."  There is a simple threefold strategy. 1. 10 Days of day-and-night prayer from Ascension Day till the Saturday before Pentecost Sunday. 2. A global day of repentance & prayer on Pentecost Sunday  3. 90 Days of "community blessing.
