Getting Results From Radio
Are you getting the results that you want from our listeners that listen to
your radio program on KKPZ? Are you asking for specific action from
them and are you tracking all responses that come into your church, ministry or
service?
If you are a church or even a ministry, do you put an offering box in the
back of the room and expect people to give as they feel lead. What happens if
they feel lead to give, but go out of the room through a different door?
The point of all this, is that they way that you "pass the offering plate" in
radio is to ask in the body of your program. The asking at the end of your
broadcast in the Closing Announcement is a reminder with the full contact
information repeated several times. Listeners usually tune out the pre-recorded
Closing Announcement, UNLESS they need the contact information, because they are
already motivated to respond to your request.
In radio, the way that you present the opportunity for our listeners to
become involved in your ministry, either by giving financially, by attending
your meetings or by receiving or purchasing your materials is to A.S.K. Again,
State, what they already Know to do.
If you don't "Again State what they already Know to do", they won't be
confronted one on one with the opportunity to participate in your ministry, even
though they have thought about it and really want to do it, because you are
blessing them and ministering to them, but they just need that little nudge or
reminder to really do it and to do it now, thus they are grateful when you "pass
the offering plate" and they can do it right then and there, cheerfully and
willingly.
Also, you must track all the responses that you receive from everyone that
you ministry to and determine, how was this response motivated, by radio, your
newsletters, your website, a personal invitation for you or someone in your
ministry. Why? So that six months or a year from now, you can look back and not
only spiritually know that you are making an impact but also physically know
that you are making a measurable impact via your radio program and other
outreach efforts. Also you'll know, what efforts need to be increased because
they are working and what efforts need to be redesigned to make them work better
and finally what efforts need to stop completely, because no one has ever
responded.
Finally, "Except the Lord build the House, they that build it, labor in
vain." (Ps 127:1) and "Commit to the Lord whatever you do and your plans will
succeed." (Pr 16:3). God has to be in it and prayer is how God gets into it. If
God lead you to start a radio outreach program ministry, then He has to make it
happen, but He does so according to our prayers and response to His leading. The
point is, that the enemy doesn't want you on the air and he will do everything
that he can to keep you off the air and prayer will break his efforts, so that
you will know that you should continue to be on the air, whether it is directly
from God or from our listeners and/or both!
