There’s nothing remarkable about me, but Christ in
me. I was saved by Jesus in August of 2002. Before
that, I was what we call a “seeker”. My life was
great from the outside (beautiful family and home,
great job and lots of friends) but inside-I was
totally lost.
I had
been trying to solve all my problems (dealing with
the loss of my parents to a tornado in 1999, divorce
and a very trying marriage) my own way.
The
weekend of the blackout, my light came on when I met
a wonderful group of Jesus followers who loved me
into understanding the depth and expansiveness of
God’s love for his people in Jesus Christ.
They
gave me a bible, they took me to bible study and
they prayed with me without ceasing. They gave me
the book "The Purpose Driven Life" by Rick Warren.
It was after reading the first words of that book,
“It’s not about you," when I realized that God
wasn’t doing things TO me - he was doing things WITH
me.
I was
saved and heard the Lord tenderly say “Be still and
know that I am God” -Psalm 46:10.
I
surrendered and submitted to the King of Kings. The
humble servant King Jesus the Savior.
I
realized I didn’t have to EARN my way back home to
heaven. Jesus did it for me and that’s what the
cross is all about.
I
began to live God’s way, as laid out for us in the
Bible and as a result, I’m healed, mind body and
spirit.
Glory
to God!
God
is good and it’s a joy to live life as his child.
I’m
the wife of Joseph Caldwell and the proud mom of
Alex and Liam. I’m a daughter of the King and it’s a
blessing to walk with him and with YOU, the amazing
Morning Light audience.
